Roger S. Chawla, owner of Chawla & Associates, Inc., has over twenty years experience in accounting, tax, and auditing services as an auditor, tax accountant and consultant. His client experience is focused on professional services firms including information technology, high tech, medical and health care service providers including dentists, and real estate clients. He has conducted financial audits in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and regulatory criteria for specific industries. He has processed financial statements, tax returns, tax planning and acted as CFO at times for clients and he has performed operational audits and internal control reviews to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of available resources in a variety of business environments.
As owner of Chawla and Associates, Inc., Roger Chawla, as all small business owners, has the ultimate responsibility of overseeing all aspects of the business including developing and managing all facets of an accounting firm with small to medium sized businesses, corporations, partnerships, and individuals; performing accounting and tax services for small to medium businesses, partnerships, and individual clients.
Roger Chawla has to market and develop all initial contracts with Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officers of new and existing clients and plan and perform detailed accounting and control procedures for cash receipts, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, accounts payable and other consulting matters.
Roger Chawla’s health care experience includes generating industry specific financial statements for a home health care agency, coordination with external health care consultants in generating cost reports, improving internal controls at the home health care agency and assisting in the valuation of the business.
As a home owner in the area, Roger Chawla, just as all home owners, is concerned with the local property values and the specific changing tax laws that go along with our changing world and economy such as mortgage debt forgiveness relief; bonus depreciation; and the extension of tax cuts and rates. He plans for your success by relieving client stress that comes with ever changing tax laws and offering financial coaching and budgeting; tax preparation, planning and strategy; ability to maximize education credits; Roth conversion guidelines; and exclusion for unemployment compensation.
Through the years Roger Chawla has assembled an extensive network of trusted advisors to which he can refer clients; experts in such areas as wills, trusts, estate tax planning, wealth management issues, insurance products, loans, mortgages, and legal advice in OVDI amnesty.
Professionally, Roger Chawla is a member of the Illinois CPA society, California Society of Enrolled Agents and the Independent Accountant’s Association of Illinois. He has conducted joint seminars with the IRS; Legal Practices; banks; and employers on a variety of complex accounting issues including small business start-ups, Offshore Voluntary Disclosure Initiative (OVDI), payroll taxes, and new tax laws.
