Founded in 1966, The Plainfield Park District is the 9th largest park district in the State of Illinois, serving just over 105,000 residents and covering over 43 square miles.
The District serves both Will and Kendall Counties, maintaining parks and facilities in seven southwest Chicagoland communities including The Villages of Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and Romeoville, the cities of Crest Hill and Joliet, as well as Wheatland Township.
It has been recognized as an Illinois Distinguished Accredited Agency for excellence in delivering parks and recreation services to its residents.
