Find your inner tree champion at the 11th annual Champion of Trees 10K Run and Walk from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 17 or Sunday, April 18. To register, visit bit.ly/3bntzpO.
ON-SITE
On-site participants can maintain a safe distance apart while following a challenging course with rolling terrain through The Morton Arboretum’s scenic East Side. A start time must be selected during registration. The last start time is 10:45 a.m. The race starts and finishes in the Visitor Center area.
VIRTUAL
Alternatively, those participating in the Virtual 10K can run or walk on a course and date of their choosing. No matter when or where you choose to run, your participation will support the Arboretum’s mission to plant and protect trees.
FEES
-Members: $45*
-Guests: $50
*Members will be prompted to enter their member number during the registration process, then the discount will be applied.
RACE DETAILS
AWARDS: Due to COVID-19 and the socially distant start line model, no medals or prizes will be awarded for this event.
GEAR CHECK: Due to COVID-19, gear check will not be available.
MEDALS: We do not give out finisher medals for this race.
PACKET/T-SHIRT PICKUP: Pick up your packet and T-shirt at Dick Pond Athletics in Lisle during regular store hours, April 9 through 16. Participants have the option for race packets to be mailed prior to the race for an additional fee selected and paid for during registration. There is no packet pick up on-site during race day.
PARKING: Free parking is available on-site at The Morton Arboretum. Participants will be directed to parking locations within walking distance of the start/finish line.
STROLLERS: We are permitting strollers for this race as participants are adequately spread out.
PROHIBITED: Motorized vehicles, bicycles, roller skates and pets are prohibited on the race course.
RESTROOMS: Portable restrooms will be available near the start line and will be sanitized regularly. Restrooms are available inside the Visitor Center and West Pavilion building. Masks are required in these buildings.
RESULTS: Race results will be available immediately online after you cross the finish line. There will not be a race results station on-site this year.
SPECTATORS: Due to COVID-19, spectators are not allowed to gather around the start/finish line or the race core area. Visitors that would like to attend during the race are required to reserve timed-entry admission prior to arriving at the Arboretum.
WATER STATIONS: No water stations will be available along the course. Boxed Water will be available near the start/finish line.
WEATHER AND EMERGENCIES: The race will take place rain or shine. In the case of emergency, participants will be notified by 6 a.m. on race morning via email or text with event updates. Notifications will also be posted on the website and The Morton Arboretum’s Facebook page.
